I learn best by…

I learn best when I am in an open enviorment. What I mean, is that it helps alot when we have open discusions. When we have open discusions, it helps because everyone is involved and everyone can be heard by stating their opinion. Then others can argue and state their belif. With these open discusions, the students will also benifit by strenghthing their debate skills.

Also, another really effective way of learning is by using techonlgy in our classroom. This can help by making it easyer to do our projects, and get our ideas and thoughts out. I think that every classroom should use the latest technology on a daily basis.

These are just a coulple ways to make the classroom or maybe even the whole school a better place.

I personally didn’t really like the book Animal Farm. I mean, I really like the author’s unique way of getting his point accross about utopioas/reblelion with animals. But when I read about a pig milking a cow… it kindof lost my intrest. I was reading this book the same time as I was reading The End. And I thought it was cool because both books had to do with utopias and rebellion I don’t think I’d recomend this book, but i did enjoy reading it.

the end.

In this post, I am talking about the book, the end by Lemony Snicket. But first, let me just say I am pretty mad. He tricked me by thinking this is the last book in A Seris of Unforcunate Events, but don’t be fooled. It’s not. There is one more book after this called, Chapter 14.

I thought I read this book at the perfect time. You see, the badalares end up on an island that is supposed to be a utopia and people start rebelling. and were learning about utopoias and rebelion in LA. How perfect is that? Anyways, I think that Count Olafs personality has changed. You see, I have only read the first book, and now this one. (At least those are the only ones I remember.) I think that Olaf is starting to write him as a funny character in the book, because when the movie comes out, that will be even funnyer with Jim Carry.

Overall, I think this is a pretty good book. Except I don’t really think the person who died, should have died.

This book was very diffrent. It had its ups and downs.

First, it was good because it was interesting. It was written in completly IM’s so that made it very unique. (i mean, come on. Who whould ever think to write a whole BOOK in im’s?) This book was about 3best friends making their way threw their sophmore year. It was interesting because each girl was very unique. One was quiet, one was wild, and one was… well like a leader/drama queen.

Ttfn also had its downs. First, the fact that you were reading IMs the whole time, made me feel stalkerish. Also, it was kindof predictable. You knew when somthing big was going to happen. And last, it got me way confuzed when I started reading other books. I was so used to reading in IM lanuage, that it was hard for me to read a real book!

Ttfn is actually the sequal to ttyl. And actually in the 2nd one they mention events that occured in the 1rst book. This got me a little confuzing at some parts. It makes me wonder if  Lauren Myracle, the author,  actually took the time to type out the screen name EVERY line. Or maybe she just copied and pasted? I think it would be easiest to acually have a friend IMing you and each person has something like a script to follow.

Overall, I think this book was inbetween ok and great. So like a good.

Lindsy’s Utopia!!

democracy?

Filed under: Uncategorized — burtonbabe at 3:20 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2007

so america is a democracy, right? (that includes schools) so why don't we become more democratic about certain things?
Now I understand that we can't really do this on everything. (i.e. homework) But I believe we can vote on more things like, AR. Well i;m not saying we should vote on if we should do ar or ar+. (I'm sure it would be a unanimous vote) but maybe we can choose every quarter which we would like to do. Because with AR+ you need to get a boatoad more points!!

 Going back to a democracy…..

I think we (the students) should get to vote on stuff like how the library gets to look (instead of the weird wildflife them) and also stuff like how many assemblies we have each year and maybe possibly what they're about…

oreos

how many ways are there to really eat an oreo?

so far I’ve counted 5ways.

1- The most simplest way is probably to just eat the cookie bite by bite and possibly dip it into milk every so often.

2- You can pull in apart and simply lick off the cream and then eat the actual cookie (or dispose of the cookie like i do)

4-    You can also pick it up with your non-dominate hand. Then simply lick off all the frosting. Then finally dip dip dip it into that 2%milk.

5-    Another way you can eat an oreo, is by pulling apart the two cookies. Then letting it soak up the milk from 3-5 seconds. Then you may enjoy.

shes right.

i’m so sick of people trying to be something they’re really not. People will make up crap trying to sound like someone else. it bugs me so bad because they will lie so much, then when there telling the truth no one really knows what to believe. Now, i’m not saying everyone does this. but the people that do should really stop. because you may think nobody sees what your doing, but then everyone really does. and instead of saying it to your face, we will just end up talking behind your back. and i hate it.

The Magician’s Nephew by Clive Staples Lewis

As you may have known, this is the first book to the series, The Chronicles of Narnia. (the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe is the second) So I was wondering, why do a movie on the second not the first?? Maybe the same reason as starwars? (I heard they needed better technology to make the first one? whatever.) So thats when I decided to read this…

I am about half way though the book now, and let me just say theere are some pretty interesting characters. And I like that, it keeps the book interesting. The 2main characters are Polly and Digory who just met this summer. Its very interesting how you hear both points of view (digory is kind of a dare devil and real existed, and polly is very curious, smart, and observes everything) There is also a very crazy uncle in here. He’s kinda mean!
I really like how the authour keeps it intresting. Exsept i’m at a really dead part right now. But I just know somthing really exsiting is about to happen…
